Qualifications
- Grade 12 or equivalent
- Foundations in Developmental Services (or willing to obtain)
- Knowledge of Vulnerable Persons’ Act
- Valid First Aid Certification (or willing to obtain)
- Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (or willing to obtain)
- Satisfactory Criminal Record Search
- Clear Adult Abuse Registry Search
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license and satisfactory driver’s abstract
- Demonstrated team player
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to problem solve
- Counseling skills

Residential Support Worker
This is a support position in which the incumbent supports and assists individuals living with developmental disabilities, to ensure their quality of life is maximized. Support Workers assist individuals to participate in their community in conjunction with the Mission Statement, philosophy, values and polices of Southwest Community options Inc. They value and respect individual choices and self-expression by following the principles and guidelines of the Adults Living with an Intellectual Disability Act (ALIDA) and legal requirements established by the Department of Families and the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms. Working as part of the team, the support worker assists in the development and maintenance of a home where individuals can grow, learn and live in comfort.
Day Support Worker
This is a support position in which the incumbent supports and assists individuals living with developmental disabilities, to ensure their quality of life is maximized. Café Barista/Store Attendant
We are searching for people with a positive, caring, and enthusiastic personality and who are passionate about food and beverage preparation and retail store sales. This position will assist the café and thrift store daily operations and interact with customers to ensure a positive experience. You will greet customers, answer their questions, take orders, and accept payments through our point of sale (POS) system. You will be involved in assisting with displays and seasonal promotions in thrift store.
This is a non-union position and will work alongside direct support professionals and people we support within our day service program. Willingness to work a variety of hours – early morning, peak hours (lunch), weekends and holidays.
