Southwest Community Options and Secret Seconds n’ More invite applications for newly created positions of Café Barista/Store Attendant. 

We are searching for people with a positive, caring and enthusiastic personality and who are passionate about food and beverage preparation and retail store sales.  These positions will assist with the café and thrift store daily operations and interact with customers to ensure a positive experience.  You will greet customers, answer their questions, take orders and accept payments through our point of sale (POS) system.  You will be involved in assisting with displays and seasonal promotions in thrift store.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Grade 12 or equivalent
2. Valid First Aid/CPR (or willing to obtain)
3. Satisfactory Criminal Record Check and clear Adult Abuse Registry
4. Excellent verbal and written communication
5. Demonstrated team player
6. Demonstrated ability to problem solve
7. Food Handler Safety Certification (or willing to obtain)
8. Ability to work independently
9. Open minded – flexible, reliable and capable of performing duties

DUTIES:

1. Food preparation – soup, sandwiches, rice bowls & salads
2. Beverage preparation – operating coffee machines and other equipment
3. Completing customer orders and sales utilizing point of sale
4. Thrift store assistance
5. Tracking inventory levels to ensure café has an adequate supply
6. Opening and/or closing duties
7. Ensuring food and ingredients are fresh
8. Adhere to all food safety regulations and quality standards
